Yay!   It was my birthday today and you know what that means…

Time for the annual buying of the plane ticket!

Okay, I don’t know if it really counts as an “annual” event if this was only the second year I’ve done it but I definitely would like to make this an annual tradition.

Shame I didn’t start it years ago!

Anyway, I logged into good ol Kayak which, if you’re a traveler, is a website you could literally spend hours on dreaming of different trips.

It scans all the airlines’ websites and shows all available flights on any route you’re looking for sorting them by the lowest price.

Once I found the ticket I wanted – a multi way flight from Vancouver to Manila, Philippines and then onto Jakarta, Indonesia – I headed over to the website for Philippines Air as they had the cheapest flight.

Click, click, click and done!

I leave in 34 days on January 18th just before midnight arriving in Manila (non-stop thank God) a scant 14 hours later entirely bypassing January 19th and arriving on the 20th.

The second leg of the flight takes me from Manila to Jakarta 7 days later where I’ll head to Bali for awhile before moving northward through the rest of south east Asia.

Can’t wait!
