Today I started in Montenegro, spent a little time in Croatia, and then ended the night in England.
I was on my way home but first I had to get to Manchester as my Air Transat flight leaves from there to Vancouver tomorrow at noon.
Getting to Manchester involved a bus, another bus, a plane and then a train.
At 2pm, my journey started as I caught a bus from Budva across the border back to Dubrovnik in Croatia. I got into Dubrovnik with just enough time to stop for dinner where I had yet another mixed grill of various meats. From there I took an airport shuttle bus to catch my 8pm flight to Manchester.
The temperature when I left was about 30 degrees but that dropped to 6 degrees when I landed in Manchester 3 hours later. From the airport I took a train downtown and, after a brisk walk, I was at my hostel here in Manchester.
It was almost midnight when I arrived at the hostel and after settling in real quick I headed out to get my last dinner in Europe.
I would love to tell you it was an amazing meal but, alas, at midnight in Manchester there’s not much open. It was also cold and wet plus I was tired and ready for bed. So, my last dinner in Europe consisted of a lamb kebab and a Pepsi. Oh well. I actually took time to think back at some of the amazing meals I’ve had here in the last 3 months and that brought a huge smile to my face.
By 2am I was in bed ready to get tomorrow here. In less than 24 hours I’ll be home!
