When I arrived in Veliko Tarnovo a couple of days ago feeling sick, I decided that it’d probably be smart to extend our stay here by one day just in case I was grounded in bed for a couple of days.
Turns out, despite still not being 100%, I ended up venturing out to explore the town yesterday.
This left us with a day today where I literally had nothing planned.
Not that that’s a bad thing considering I’m still recuperating from whatever stomach thing hit me a couple of days ago.
Sometimes it’s nice to just do nothing. It’s a hard lesson for me to learn because you’re natural instinct when you travel is to just go, go, go and see and do as much as you can.
So, with that being said, this blog is gonna be pretty short.
The big mission today was taking a taxi to the bus station on the outskirts of town to buy our bus tickets for tomorrow to Plovdiv.
There’s only one bus a day and I didn’t want to show up tomorrow and being told they were sold out.
Been there. Done that. It ain’t a good feeling.
Outside of that mission, the rest of day was spent playing cards and going out for breakfast, lunch, and dinner.
Like I said, it was an easy day…
As for me, I’m feeling pretty decent. I still have some stomach issues that are landing me on a toilet every few hours, but otherwise I’m feeling pretty healthy and ready to go.
Tomorrow we head to Plovdiv and, at the end of week, we move on to Sofia.
It’s time to explore Bulgaria…
